Building Children’s Confidence Through Drama, Singing and Dance in Dulwich
As a mum of a shy three year old boy, I was looking for a class that would boost his confidence in preparation for that first dreaded day at school. Growing up in a musical household in South Wales I thought “what better way than through singing, drama and dance?” I arrived at Jigsaw Arts and never looked back.
I was a very proud mum when my confident five year old skipped through those school dates on day one (with a hint of the Jigsaw dance he had learned the term before). I felt so strongly about what Jigsaw did (and still do) for my son that I decided to set up my own Jigsaw School here in Dulwich. Unlike some other schools, Jigsaw start nurturing and developing children as young as three. In my ‘expert’ view (as a mum and an educational researcher) this is a really great age to start making a difference.
I’m very excited to be running my classes at a school like Alleyn’s who take co-curricular activities like dance, singing and drama seriously. I love how their ethos of “knowing every child really well so that they can flourish” mirrors the ethos of Jigsaw. I hope it’s the start of a beautiful friendship.
Jigsaw Dulwich has spaces available in drama, singing and dance for children aged 3-18. Book a two week trial today! Check out our Jigsaw Dulwich page HERE, and don’t forget to connect with Jigsaw Dulwich on Facebook and Twitter.
