Friendships are encouraged and often form naturally at Jigsaw through teacher led engaging teamwork activities and games. Students explore learning new skills in the arts together and form a creative unity through sharing ideas and supporting each other through rehearsals and performances.
BENEFITS OF FRIENDSHIP FOR CHILDREN
Living through a time where children mostly digital technology to communicate, we strongly believe in the importance of building connections in real life.
At Jigsaw Arts, our ethos is ‘a place to belong’ and our classes inspire friendships by improving…
Social Skills
Social interaction is essential for building friendships. Jigsaw classes help develop social skills through drama games and activities! Learning how to engage with our peers is beneficial for drama classes and other areas in life. Social skills are not only important in making friends but also in maintaining these friendships!
Letting Go
Letting go of worries and freely expressing yourself will allow others to connect with the real you. At Jigsaw Arts, we encourage our students to express their individuality and let go of fear which helps form genuine friendships. Expression pulls like-minded people together!
Empathy
Jigsaw Arts drama activities teach young people the importance of empathy and how to listen and show genuine interest in others. Having empathy while building friendships will help children learn how to consider other people’s thoughts and feelings, and allow their peers to feel more connected to them.
Warm Welcomes
We understand that making friends and socialising may be difficult for some of our new students joining us, so we aim to make our students feel as welcome as possible in their ‘place to belong’. Jigsaw managers, teaching team, assistants, and cuddly Jigsaw Joey and Arty Bear mascots will be waiting at your reception, ready to greet new students with a warm smile and welcome pack. We also assign new students a ‘class buddy’ to show them around the school and keep them company while they are introduced to the rest of their group.
Get involved!
Encourage your child to join an activity they will enjoy. Our weekend schools are a great place to start!
