Children are introduced to basic stagecraft – through stories, guided improvisation, play and poetry. This encourages self-expression and stimulates the imagination, while developing focus.
Our dance activities are designed to improve children’s posture, co-ordination, rhythm, and spatial awareness. Through fun and funky routines, children develop basic dance skills.
An introduction to vocal exercises and rhythm is provided to children, through their enjoyment of singing along to a selection of musical theatre and pop tunes.
Jigsaw shows give children the exciting opportunity to perform with costume, sound and lighting to an invited audience of friends and family. Incorporating drama, singing and dance, Jigsaw write and create our own end of term shows ensuring that every child has the opportunity to take part and there are no single lead characters.
Children aged 3-4 and 5-6 years attend a 90-minute session divided into three sections of dance, drama and singing. To ensure each child gets personal attention there is a maximum of 16 students per class. All teachers are specially trained by Jigsaw Arts to work with these age groups. The classes are drop off sessions and parents can enjoy seeing their child's progression at the end of term presentations, shows and reports! Each term at Jigsaw Arts (Spring, Summer, Autumn) runs for 11 weeks.
